WILLIAM BURLING

Fifth Child of ALLAN and MARY.

Fifth child of Allan and Mary.

William married Margaret Allison, daughter of Alexander and Sarah Allison (nee Collins) and sister to George's wife, at Old Gunyerwarildi. They had three sons and one daughter:

• William: born 26 Nov, 1896;

• Eliza Agnes: born 18 Apr, 1899;

• Henry Stephen James: born 6 Sep, 1901; and

• George Allen: born 13 May, 1905,

all in Warialda. Bill spent his younger days moving between the railhead and Warialda, the family finally settling in Warialda in 1886 and he was to remain there for the rest of his life. He assisted his father on the selection he had taken up and then Bill obtained his own block. He was a kind and generous man and was highly respected in the district and died 27 Jun, 1936. Margaret died just thirteen months later on 20 Jun, 1937.
